Inside The Rental Reno

Roughly forty gallons of paint and stain, 2 1/2 tons in the dumpster (it will take a lot for me to erase this carbon footprint!), hardwood and tile, drywall and plaster, taps, sinks, toilets and showers, light fixtures, three months of manual labour, blood (literally), sweat (again literally) and tears (even more literally!) and we are done!!!  If you missed the beginning of the story click here.

The living room is done! ~

The kitchen is done! ~

The bathrooms are done! ~

The bedrooms are done! ~

The upper hallway is done and the beams are restored! ~

Mint green becomes aged wood.

Look at the view the purchaser will have from the master bedroom! ~

Hey isn't that Wendy from Herballistic Garden's front yard?  Sure it is.  I'd recognize that secret door anywhere!

Walk a couple of doors to the left, just past the little white church, and you are at my house.  Maybe the buyer will be a blogger and we'll have the most bloggers per capita of anywhere!  This teeny village NEEDS  another blogger, don't you think?

They can join us for tea or wine, campfires and river gazing.

Just don't ask me to help you paint, repair, carry or build anything.  Well, at least not for a week or so!

  2. Maureen, all your blood, sweat, and tears turned out a lovely space. It looks like you paid a contractor to do it. The vanity in the bath is charming. I cannot imagine all that amount of paint. xoxo, olive

  3. Oh my gosh! That is all so beautiful! Now, I have some questions....what is that gorgeous piece above the fireplace? Was that beautiful stair bannister original to the house? Did you have to stain it? Where did you get that beautiful bathroom sink? I'd say your hard work paid off, for sure!

    1. I'll answer Danni's questions here in case anyone else wants to know. The piece above the fireplace is relatively new, made of wood and metal AND my SIL scored it free! The bannister is original to the house, has many coats of paint on it and was repainted in dark brown, latex paint. It would be fabulous stripped and stained! The bathroom vanity/sink is standard stock from Lowe's and was on sale for just over $100.

  7. I think the fact you accomplished so much in such a short period of time is nothing short of a miracle! Having been renovating and restoring my own little house for over ten years, I know only too well the effort and expense you have invested. The end result shows it was soooo worth it. More than beautiful, it is amazing and I hope it sells not only quickly, but to some deserving and appreciative people who will love it.
